Dialogue on Tax and SDG’s 2023 in New York

This week in New York: SDG’s and Tax.

Capabuild believes that taxation and a well-functioning Tax Revenue Service plays a key role in any society. Capacity building within Revenue Services is a crucial condition for building a sustainable society. However, if you review the SDG’s it is hard to find tax, but it is there at the very end under SDG 17 Partnerships for the goals, 17.1.: Strengthen domestic resource mobilization, including through international support to developing countries, to improve domestic capacity for tax and other revenue collection. Obviously, a Revenue Service is also a national institution as covered under SDG 16 .
Capabuild welcomes The Dialogue on Tax and SDGs at Columbia University and UNDP (tax for SDGs initiative) in New York. This year’s dialogue will explore how tax policies and administrations can build equitable societies with robust , just tax system.

Capabuild is proud that the Chair of Capabuild’s knowledge centre partner, Committee on Fiscal Studies (CFS) Nairobi, Lyla Latif, PhD, is presenting on the topic Advancing Capacity of Tax Training Institutes in Africa
